Lutra Consulting is a growing international IT company, based in London with a strong European presence, especially in Slovakia. We're experts in open-source GIS solutions, including popular systems like QGIS and Mergin Maps. With a team of over 25 dedicated professionals serving hundreds of clients worldwide, our business is rapidly expanding. To support this growth, we're strengthening our Finance and Office team and are looking for a Junior Finance Assistant. This dynamic role encompasses finance, event, and back-office management, and will also be crucial in our 2025 transition to an ERP/Odoo system. You will work closely with our Finance Manager in Bratislava and our Finance Director in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting/Finance:
- Day-to-day bookkeeping (invoices, expenses....)
- Reporting, analysis and data preparation
- Prepare data for taxes in different countries (as needed)
- Help with fine-tuning/implementation of Odoo (ERP) system
- Help with other agenda (e.g., international tax, year-end forecasts)
Event Management:
- Find and book accommodation
- Find and book flights or other transportation
- Find and book expo/conference tickets
- Ship SWAG or other items to conferences
- Assist marketing/sales team as needed (e.g., order stand arrangements)
- Arrange team activities for team meets (e.g., team building)
- On-site arrangement of team meets or larger events
- Prepare financial reports from events
Office (Backoffice/Legal/HR):
- Backoffice (SWAG, HW, offices)
- HR (pre-screening, onboarding...)
- Legal (manage documents...)
Requirements
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Self-motivated and pro-team mentality
- Detail oriented - able to follow structure
- Understanding of accounting principles
- Student or college/university degree in relevant fields (Economics, Law, Management, Accounting, etc.)
- Bonus: Experience in accounting, ideally in SK or UK
- Bonus: Experience in event management or volunteering experience
- Bonus: User experience with working with ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, ClickUp, …)
Mergin Maps is a SaaS GIS platform for field survey data collection. It has iOS, Android and Windows mobile app developed as an open-source on GitHub. It is written in C++/Qt6 with QML frontend and partially in combination with native iOS/Android code. The core dependencies are QGIS core library and other open-source GIS libraries, so the application has 100% compatibility with popular QGIS project. We are extending our app team to be able to reflect more swiftly on the product development requirements. The Mergin Maps team is mostly located in Bratislava, Slovakia, but this is a fully remote position that can be done from anywhere.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead development of Mergin Maps app
- Define and prototype long-term Mergin Maps app technical vision
- Cooperate with the rest of the team on requirements and design choices
- Interact with the testing, product and design team
- Contribute to open-source projects related to Mergin Maps toolchain
Requirements:
- English working proficiency
- Deep knowledge of C++ and Qt, potentially QtQml
- Feeling for UX/UI
- Knowledge of native Android (Java) or iOS (Swift) languages
- Overview of trends in mobile maps apps

Full-time, fully remote, as Head of Sales you will be responsible for establishing and leading the sales department for our SaaS product, Mergin Maps, while also driving growth across our consultancy, software development, support, and training services. This role requires a strategic leader capable of developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy, building a high-performing sales team, and optimizing revenue streams, while able to also step in the frontline to talk to larger clients. The main focus of the role at the beginning will be approaching enterprise customers and establishing the sales cycle for this new segment for Mergin Maps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a sales strategy and team to drive growth for Mergin Maps
- Lead and expand the sales team
- Enhance the effectiveness of the sales process and improve conversion rates.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for larger, more strategic projects, particularly in software development and consultancy.
- Work with the leadership team to refine service pricing
- Manage and nurture relationships with key clients and partners.
Requirements
- Fluent in both written and spoken business English

- 5+ years of experience in either SaaS or IT software development company
- 2+ years experience in leading sales team
- Experience in setup and implementation of sales departments, e.g. CRM
